A man stabbed several members of a group that describes itself as opposing "political Islam" on a central square in the German city of Mannheim on Friday, authorities said. Six people were wounded, including a police officer who intervened. 
Twenty people, including children, drowned when a boat sank during a river crossing in Afghanistan s eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday, a provincial official said. 
State Minister of Higher Education Dr. Suren Raghavan says that the government intends to engage in discussions with the university non-academic staff trade unions currently on strike over various demands. 
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) has revised its fuel prices with effect from midnight today (May 31). 
At least 85 people died of suspected heat stress and related issues in Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in 24 hours, senior officials in these regions said on Friday, amid an unforgiving heat spell in India that has pushed temperatures to unprecedented levels in many of these regions.
