The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the final results of the Jaffna District in the 2024 General Election with the National People s Power (NPP) polling more than 24% of the total votes in the district. 
The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the final results for the Batticaloa District in the 2024 General Election with the Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) polling more than 33% of the total votes in the district. 
NPP has polled 651,476 votes to win the district while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is second with 189,394 votes (20.22%). 
Several prominent Ministers and Members of Parliament of the former government have already lost their seat, as the results of the 2024 General Election are being released.
