Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa met with Japanese Foreign Minister Y #333;ko Kamikawa this afternoon for a bilateral discussion on Sri Lanka s current situation. 
The second meeting of the strategic dialogue between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom is scheduled to be held in Colombo on 07 May 2024, at the senior officials level. 
Nearly 10,000 army personnel who were absent for duty without obtaining leave (AWOL) have been temporarily discharged from their Regimental Centers during the ongoing general amnesty period, the Sri Lanka Army said. 
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry conveyed Sri Lanka s deep appreciation for the solidarity and assistance Japan has extended in the past years when the country was going through the unprecedented economic crisis.
