France won a record 15 billion euros ($16.17 billion) in foreign investment pledges on Monday, allowing President Emmanuel Macron to bask in the limelight with global CEOs and forget about strained public finances and weak polls for a while. 
The driving licenses of the 15 motorcycle riders who were arrested for engaging in illegal street racing and reckless riding on Galle Road in Bambalapitiya last week, have been suspended for six months by the court, the Police Media Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa said. 
United States Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu, called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe today (13) at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo. 
Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development, Jeevan Thondaman, affirmed that the government is ready to face any situation if the estate companies take court action against the government s decision to increase the wages of the estate workers community.
