Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has held discussions with Indian business leaders to expand trade and investment opportunities across key sectors such as technology, manufacturing, education, innovation, entrepreneurship, agriculture, energy, and tourism. 
A total of seven fishermen from Rameswaram, India have been arrested by Sri Lankan Navy for poaching in seas off Talaimannar. 
Former Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, Nishantha Wickramasinghe, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), has been further remanded until July 15, Ada Derana reporter said. 
The Colombo Magistrate s Court has ordered the remand of three suspects, including former Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT), Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasingha, until July 8. 
In a significant step towards strengthening good governance and transparency in Sri Lanka, the Government of Japan has extended a grant of USD 2.5 million to support a new anti-corruption initiative implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
