The Sri Lankan military veterans, who had illegally joined Russian mercenaries and subsequently escaped from such groups in the conflict zones to returned to the island, claim that around 1,000 Sri Lankans are currently fighting in the Ukraine -Russia warfront. 
A Gazette notification has been issued stating that Mujibur Rahman has been nominated by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) to fill the vacancy in Parliament created by the disqualification of Diana Gamage as Member of Parliament by a Supreme Court verdict. 
The Commissioner General of Examinations, Mr. H.J.M.C. Amith Jayasundara, says that a complaint will be lodged with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (10) concerning irregularities detected during the ongoing G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination. 
State Minister for Technology, Kanaka Herath, announced that the amended bill to amend the Telecommunications Regulatory Act after 28 years will be presented to the Parliament tomorrow (10). Additionally, he highlighted plans for the drafting of the National Cyber Security Act in May.
