The Immigration and Emigration Department officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake have apprehended two women over their alleged involvement in an attempt to send a Sri Lankan teenage boy to London using forged documents. 
The deadline for the Children of Gaza Fund, initiated by President Ranil Wickremesinghe to aid those affected by conflicts in Gaza, has now been extended until May 31, 2024. 
Since there is no transparency in the scheme of providing fully electric vehicle licenses to Sri Lankans working abroad and it appears that there are many issues pertaining to the matter, the Chair of the Committee on Public Finance Dr. Harsha de Silva instructed that a full analysis is needed to be carried out
