Allegations of illegal financial gains connected to the contentious E8 visa scheme have been directed at former Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment, Manusha Nanayakkara. 
The International Monetary Fund s (IMF) Senior Mission Chief for Sri Lanka, Peter Breuer, stated that Sri Lanka s continuation of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program will support stable and inclusive growth for the country. 
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $200 million loan to upgrade Sri Lanka s power sector infrastructure, enhancing the reliability of transmission and distribution networks and facilitating greater integration of renewable energy. 
The Supreme Court has fixed for consideration on December 12, a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition filed seeking an interim injunction suspending the holding of 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level examination.
