President Ranil Wickremesinghe has directed the resumption of the "Suraksha" student insurance program, which was temporarily suspended due to economic challenges. Starting from the first week of June, all school students across the island will once again be able to benefit from this insurance scheme. 
A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister crashed on Sunday as it was crossing mountain terrain in heavy fog, an Iranian official told Reuters, and rescuers were making their way to the site of the incident. 
All schools in the Puttalam district will be closed on Monday (May 20) due to the adverse weather conditions. 
Police have arrested a 33-year-old youth who had allegedly assaulted the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran in Sri Lanka, Dr. Alireza Delkhosh, during an incident near a shopping mall on Muttiah Road in Colombo 02. 
Rescuers have reached the crash site of the helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi, Iran s semi-official Tasnim news agency.
