The Colombo Magistrate s Court has ordered the release on bail of three suspects, including an Assistant Controller of the Department of Immigration and Emigration
Chief Opposition Whip Gayantha Karunathilaka has withdrawn from the three-member committee appointed to inquire into a complaint regarding the conduct of Attorney-at-Law and Member of Parliament Dayasiri Jayasekara. 
Former Minister Mervyn Silva has been indicted before the Colombo High Court in a case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), alleging possession of undisclosed cash and assets exceeding Rs. 800 million. 
MP Dayasiri Jayasekara appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this afternoon (June 6) to record a statement. 
The Colombo Magistrate s Court has ordered the further remand of three suspects, including a Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT), who were arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes amounting to nearly Rs. 4.2 million. Copyright © 2007 - 2025 Col3neg. All Rights Reserved.
