Fuel distribution has commenced at Kolonnawa and Muthurajawela terminals at 6.00 a.m. this morning (29), says Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera. 
The Constitutional Council today (28 March) approved the appointment of retired High Court Judge K. B. K. Hirimburegama as the new Parliamentary Ombudsman. 
Minister of Buddhasasana Religious and Cultural Affairs Vidura Wickramanayaka has assured that the preliminary work required for the provision of electricity for all registered religious places will get underway by July. 
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has assured that there is no fuel shortage in the country, the President s Media Division (PMD) stated. 
Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekers has called for the termination of employees of both the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd (CPSTL) who disrupt the distribution of fuel. 
National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) says it has observed an alarming increase in drug abuse in the country as 67,900 people in total had been arrested in connection with narcotics-related offenses between January and October last year.
