The Allergy Immunology and Cell Biology Unit (AICBU) at the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine in the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has all the necessary infrastructure to test and diagnose monkeypox which has been detected in several countries, according to head of the department Dr. Chandima Jeewandara. 
The Commissioner General of Examinations says that steps will be taken to issue diesel from depots belonging to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) for the personal vehicles of examination staff on duty for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination this year. 
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) states that there will be no power cuts during the exam times of the 2021 G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination, which is scheduled to be held from tomorrow (23) to June 1. 
A person in possession of USD 50,000 has been arrested by the Police Special Task Force (STF) in the Welikada area, on suspicion of money laundering. 
The World Health Organization is working on further guidance for countries on how to mitigate the spread of monkeypox, amid concerns cases could spike further in the summer months, a senior adviser for the U.N. agency told Reuters.
